Brag sheet information is due in class; two-page college application paper is scheduled

Research papers not yet submitted are printed by students in class and submitted
Satire papers are scored and returned after research papers are scored and returned

Junior Defense of Thesis Scoring Presentations continue in class for MWD presenters

Wednesday, May 20
Field trip to Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for Junior Defense of Thesis; students meet in cafe at 8:00 A.M. (business dress for job interview is required); students who are purchasing lunch bring funds for the trip; tokens and bus passes are required for Metro Red Line transportation
AP students are required to bring Vocabulary Workshop textbooks to class for in-class assignment

AP English Language exam preparation continues with types of sentences (balanced, interrupted, periodic and cumulative), logical fallacies (including bandwagon appeal, non sequitur, ad hominem) and practice with multiple choice footnote stems and distractors
Satire paper is due by 8:30 A.M. on turnitin.com web site; follow all instructions on the assignment including submission of rubric and prewriting
Bedford Reader is required in class for logical fallacies discussion
Rhetorical precis is introduced; assignment is due Monday, May 18

AP English Language exam preparation continues in class

Wednesday, May 13
AP English Language examination is scheduled for all students; test security protocol and has been discussed and must be followed by students

Thursday, May 14
Junior Defense of Thesis presentations by students are scheduled; students will use scoring guide for Junior Defense of Thesis to provide feedback to presenters
