Period Three will write a letter to the editor on Thursday for homework and submit it on Tuesday of next week.

Unit Six Vocabulary Workshop answers are due Monday for both classes; test is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.

Students will bring The Great Gatsby novels to class on Friday for Chapters Four-Six class discussion; five talking points per chapter are due on Friday. Gatsby assignments to accompany the novel will be scheduled in class either as classwork or homework.

Bedford Reader is due this week on Monday and Tuesday, and Language of Composition should be brought to class on Tuesday; the Swift essay "A Modest Proposal" test will be completed either in class or as homework.

Water Politics Case Two will be discussed on Wednesday in class; unit test is due on Wednesday. There will also be a grammar assignment from Writer's Choice and that text should be brought to class.

Period Two must submit the letter to the editor on Tuesday.

Unit Six Vocabulary Workshop answers are due on Monday for both classes.

Students will bring The Great Gatsby novels to class on Monday for wrap up of Chapters One-Three class discussion.

Bedford Reader is not due this week, but Language of Composition should be brought to class on Tuesday; students should also re-read the Swift essay "A Modest Proposal" and expect a test on this reading selection.

Water Politics Case One will be discussed on Wednesday in class.

Check blog next Sunday night for assignments and texts due for November 30-December 4 instructional period.

Vocabulary Workshop Unit Five test is scheduled for Tuesday in class. Unit Six answers are due on Thursday and the next unit test will be scheduled.

An on-demand writing assignment is scheduled for Thursday. The prompt will be distributed the day before so students may read the prompt and the passages ahead of the in-class essay due at the end of the period Thursday.

Both AP classes are scheduled to complete either diction or detail assignments, which will be due at the end of the week.

A reading and writing assignment from Language of Composition has been made and is due on Tuesday. The selection is "A Modest Proposal," an essay by Jonathan Swift.

The third period AP class has a letter to the editor also due on Tuesday as students respond to a Los Angeles Times editorial.

A grammar assignment is scheduled for Wednesday when textbooks are due in class.

Bring Bedford Reader to class on Monday and Tuesday when the next reading selections will be assigned. Literary terms from this textbook will also be reviewed and the next test scheduled.

Vocabulary Workshop Unit Four test is scheduled for Tuesday in class. Unit Five answers are due on Thursday and the next unit test will be scheduled.

The first synthesis essay is due on Monday. Students used sources A-H to compose a well-written, tightly-constructed composition at home.

Both AP classes were scheduled with either detail or diction prompt homework assignments, which had different due dates.

There is no school on Wednesday, Veterans Day.

Grammar assignment for this week is postponed because of the holiday; however the Unit Five Vocabulary Workshop answers are due Thursday.

Bring Bedford Reader to class on Monday and Tuesday when the next reading selection will be assigned. Literary terms from this textbook will also be reviewed and the next test scheduled.

Their Eyes Were Watching God novels are now due in class for return to the textbook room. The Great Gatsby will be distributed and class discussion and writing assignments made during this week.
