STUDYPATH* February 15-19, 2010

In-class assignments and class updates trump published blogs.

No classes are in session on Monday, February 15, Presidents' Day, a legal holiday.

Students should have read the Huntington piece in Bedford Reader and be prepared to discuss it in class on Tuesday. Language of Composition texts should also be available in class for the next set of literary terms that will be assigned.

The 2007 College Board synthesis essay on advertising is due Tuesday. Students spent time annotating the sources in class last week; the prompt and the sources are online at collegeboard.com if additional information is needed to prepare the essay. No late exceptions are permitted since this essay was assigned a week ago.

Unit Eight Vocabulary Workshop is due Tuesday. Answers will be reviewed in class and the test date announced.

Writer's Choice text is due Thursday for work on strategies and skills necessary for preparation of the upcoming fifteen-page MLA research paper related to the Junior Defense of Thesis for Metropolitan Water District. Water Case Six will be assigned this week with the unit test due date announced.

Invisible Man Chapters Sixteen-Twenty dialectical journal entries (two per chapter) are due Friday for class discussion. The due date for the motif essay will be announced.

Period Three Letter to the Editor is due on Thursday.

Literary terms test from Language of Composition Friday morning before I.M. Chapters Sixteen-Twenty class discussion.

Unit Eight Vocabulary Workshop test on Friday morning before class discussion.
