Literary terms are reviewed in preparation for the yearly examination; literary terms tests from this year are required in class.
Terms to be covered today include antithesis, antecedents, ad hominem argument, strawman argument, nomilization and argot.
Submit essays from weekend practice test for scoring and formula computation of practice AP exam score.
USA Today letter to the editor is due tomorrow.

Tuesday

Guest speaker from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is scheduled today to address Junior Defense of Thesis presentations on June 3, 2011; guest speaker questions are required in class.

Wednesday
The Advanced Placement English Language and Composition examination is administered; wishing students the best after a nearly a year of preparation of skills and strategies in diction, tone, syntax, argument, analysis, and synthesis.

Thursday

Meet in library today for drafting of research paper and selected student presentation rehearsals; bring outlines, opening paragraphs and works cited list to library.
Return flashcards for AP English Language.
USA Today letter to the editor is assigned today and due Monday.

Friday
Meet in library today for drafting of research paper and selected student presentation rehearsals.
Unit Fourteen Vocabulary Workshop answers are due Monday.
Tone practice is scheduled for Monday.
